The Irish rugby club Connacht has bolstered it's squad with the signing of Samoan back rower Ray Ofisa.

The 26-year-old who has had a training run with his new team ahead of the start of the new season, says he's always wanted to play in the northern hemisphere.

Ofisa played his youth rugby in Samoa, but moved to New Zealand aged 19 to further his career.

He played for the Colts U21 side in Otago before going on to play for North Otago, winning promotion with them last season.

Ofisa could make his debut next weekend.
