A new governor-general for New Zealand has been sworn in at parliament.
Anand Satyanand, who is of Fiji-Indian descent, replaces Dame Silvia Cartwright as the Queen's representative.
A group from the Indian community carried out a blessing ceremony and there was a formal Maori welcome before the official swearing-in.
There were also representatives from some Pacific Island countries, including Fiji's vice-president Ratu Jone Madraiwiwi, the Premier of Niue Young Vivian, and the Cook Islands Queen's Representative, Sir Frederick Goodwin.
