Cook Islander killed in Iraq bombing

A Cook Islander has been killed in Iraq after the vehicle he was driving was bombed.

Te Ina Marokura Ngamata, who was 37, was killed in Baghdad last night.

New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade says he had been working as a driver in Baghdad since 2004.

He had returned to New Zealand regularly, most recently two weeks ago.

He will be buried in Rarotonga.
