The nephew of the head of the Cook Islands Party, Sir Geoffrey Henry, has been chosen to stand in his constituency after a vote last night.
Mark Brown is to be the CIP candidate for the Takuvaine constituency following the announcement of Sir Geoffrey's retirement.
Mr Brown is the chairman of the Cook Islands Development Board and the director of policy for the CIP as well as being involved in the sporting community.
General elections are being held in the Cook Islands at the end of next month.
