Search begins for new RAMSI Coordinator

The Australian government is looking for a new Special Coordinator for the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.

The present Special Coordinator, Australian James Batley will remain as head of RAMSI until December when his successor should be appointed.

Batley's two year contract officially ended in July.

Batley a veteran diplomat served in Papua New Guinea and was a former Australian high commissioner to the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
