Police in Tonga have laid charges against 32 people in connection with a protest march staged on June 1st in Nuku'alofa.
Radio Tonga reports that the deputy commander of police, Kainga Hia, says 17 people are being charged with interference in the cause of justice.
He says another 15 people, who were drivers of heavy trucks and loaders, have also been charged for failing to follow police instructions on the road.
They are also implicated in the non-registration of vehicles on a quarterly basis, as well as blocking Taufa'ahau Road, where the march took place.
The deputy commander says their court hearings are expected tomorrow.
