Two Supreme court Judges from Australia have been sworn in by the Samoan Head of state, Susuga Malietoa Tanumafili II.
Justice Tom Faqhuar Shepherdson QC and Justice Pierre William Slicer started their duties in the Samoan Supreme Court after the swearing in ceremony.
The two judges are presiding in a Court of Appeal hearing by lawyer, Toleafoa Solomona Toailoa, over a decision last week in which his client's motion to strike out the former Minister of Police's petition was rejected.
Chief Justice Patu Tiava'asu'e Falefatu Sapolu and Supreme court Judge Lesatele Rapi Va'ai had ruled the former minister's petition was filed within the period of seven days provided in the Electoral Act.
The two Australian judges will also sit in the hearing of other election petitions and will work in Samoa for the next two months.
