A Papua New Guinea coffee bean has set a record selling price in the United States of America.
The green bean coffee won last year's Pride of PNG international coffee cupping competition.
Coffee Pacifica Incorporated says a coffee buyer from Texas bought the bean at 12 US dollars per 400 grammes, the highest recorded sale price for the PNG green bean coffee.
The Post courier reports Coffee Pacifica is a distributor and marketer in the United States Canada and Europe of the green bean PNG coffee.
The coffee is grown by the company's shareholder-farmers in the Highlands.
