Samoan airline sees a drop in seat numbers

The Samoa government-owned Polynesian Airlines has had a 28-percent drop in passenger numbers on the inter-Samoa route.

The airline's CEO Taua Fatu Tielu says there were 6,600 less travelers between the two Samoas from January to now, compared to the same period last year.

Taua says that immigration requirements for both countries is to blame for the slump in seat numbers.

Taua says Polynesian also flies to Tonga and Niue, but is reviewing the service because of irregular demand.
