8:53 am on 15 March 2006

The New Zealand Foreign Minister has arrived in Samoa for a brief visit before moving on to Niue.

Koro Vaka'uta reports from the Samoan capital

"Winston Peters travelled from Tonga to Samoa last night after completing the first leg of his week-long Pacific visit. Mr Peters spent his last afternoon in Tonga signing the Development Partners Harmonisation Protocol - a key document for the NZAid-funded education support programme in Tonga. The signing enforced the support New Zealand is giving education in Tonga by providing around eleven million NZ dollars to improve access to quality education. While in Samoa, Mr Peters will meet the prime minister, Tuilaepe Sailele and his deputy Misa Telefoni before leaving for Niue this afternoon."
