American Samoan is being urged to take a serious stand against fatty food in a bid to improve health in the territory.
Senate President Lolo Letalu Moliga says importing lamb flaps and turkey tails is contributing to major health problems amongst residents.
He made the comment to a meat inspector from the United States Department of Agriculture during a recent senate hearing.
He says people's health will not improve if the territory continues to have an abundance of high fat food.
The local USDA office has said it's only concerned with meat imports from Australia and New Zealand and turkey tailks were imported from the United States.
