An American company is reported to be training Fijian soldiers in tactical response tactics to prepare them for employment overseas.

Radio Fiji reports that the company, Tactical Edge, has brought in two instructors from Virginia for the training, which is being conducted near Deuba about 50-km west of Suva.

In addition to former soldiers and security guards, some regular soldiers are also reported to be attending the training for which they are paying commercial fees.

At the end of the course, the company will award them certificates, which the participants hope they can use to secure employment overseas as personal protection officers and security guards.
