Solomon Islands police say flooding on the Weathercoast of Guadalcanl at the weekend damaged houses and food gardens.
They say more than 500 people have been affected.
The police say people are safe but some villages are likely to run out of food supplies.
The National Disaster Management Office and the Guadalcanal Disaster Committee have told police that they will take steps to address the situation.
