In American Samoa, Richard Mahjor has been found guilty of the murder of Wyatt Bowles Jr three years ago.

Mahjor was found guilty of all charges: first degree murder, felonious restraint, tampering with evidence and property damage first degree.

The victim's mother Mrs Meleke Bowles let out a loud sob when the verdict was read; her husband also cried.

The Bowles children along with friends and members of the family's church wept in court.

At the back of the court room, the defendants mother was crying silently.

Richard Mahjor stared ahead and showed no expression.

He will be sentenced on March 10.
