12 of the 20 Fiji soldiers who had pleaded guilty to mutiny at the start of their court martial last month have been sentenced.
10 of the 12 have been jailed for terms ranging from one to three years while another two have been set free because of the length of time they have already been in custody.
All the soldiers have been in custody for over five years since the mutiny took place in November 2000.
The court martial of the eight soldiers who have pleaded not guilty will begin next week.
The mutiny, which was aimed at assassinating Commodore Bainimarama and freeing George Speight, resulted in eight deaths and more than 30 injuries.
