In Solomon Islands, police are investigating the burning of the headquarters of the new palm oil company on the Guadalcanal Plains.

The newly established head office of Guadalcanal Plantation Palm Oil was burnt to the ground early yesterday morning according to police.

Officials of the Fire Service say they are not ruling out arson.

The office was established after the arrival of the Regional Assistance Mission, by a palm oil company in Papua New Guinea's province of East New Britain, as well as landowners of the Guadalcanal Plains.
