A Solomon Islands MP is questioning the financial credibility of the Solomon Islands Central Malaita Credit Union.
The former MP for Central Kwara'ae, Fred Fono is strongly discouraging people from investing money into the institution for what he claims is another emerging money scheme.
Mr Fono has called on the Central Bank to investigate.
But the Solomon Star reports the Central Bank as saying there is nothing wrong with the union, and CMCU Treasurer David Hagamanu says that Mr Fono's view is baseless.
