Solomons government has minor re-shuffle

There has been a minor reshuffle in the Solomon Islands caretaker administration.

The minister for Mines and Energy, Basil Manelegua, has swapped portfolios with Simeon Bouro, who was the 0 minister for Communication, Aviation and Meteorology.

The Deputy Secretary to the Prime minister's Office, Rence Sore, has confirmed the reshuffle took place on January the 14th.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation quotes the caretaker prime minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza, as saying the move is consistent with the spirit of government's economic recovery programme.

Mr Manelegua has been at the centre of a controversy over his changes to the board of the Water Authority.
