Three more men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on New Year's eve in the Samoan village of Satapuala.

A man died and three children were injured when two homes were burned to the ground and a school building trashed in a night time attack by a group of young men.

Two men were arrested last week and the other three were taken into custody this week.

The Samoa Observer reports that the five, whose ages range from early 20's to early 30's, face multiple charges including murder and arson.

The three children wounded in the attack, aged two, nine and 15 are still in hospital.

The 15-year-old, who was the most seriously injured, has undergone two operations and may lose one of his legs.
