A report from Indonesia says authorities have appointed a new acting governor for the province of Papua.
The news agency Antara, says the career home ministry official Soadjuangon Situmorang was appointed yesterday in Jakarta.
Mr Situmorang is said to have the task of running the provincial administration until the election of a definitive governor and vice governor on the 16th of February.
The former governor of Papua, Jacobus Salossa died of a heart attack last month.
