Solomon Islands Tax Commissioner to consult over tax reform

11:19 am on 19 December 2005

The Solomon Islands Commissioner of Tax wants the consultation process on the proposed tax reforms to reach as many people as possible.

The Tax Commissioner, Ronnie Piva, says unlike the Investment bill, tax reform must be understood by all Solomon Islanders because it will affect everyone whether they are in business, working or not.

He says the proposed introduction of the Value Added Tax system will mean more money in the pockets of Solomon Islanders.

Mr Piva says the consultation teams established will be travelling throughout the country talking to all sectors of the community.
