The American Samoa Senate is calling for three days of public hearings over the fees increases at the LBJ Medical Center that went into effect on November 1st.
The Senate President, Lolo Moliga, says the senators want to hear from the general public about concerns regarding the new fees, which he says are not affordable for many locals.
A Senate statement says the hearings will be held until each and every citizen of American Samoa, who wants to testify, has had a chance to present his or her view.
It says the Fono is of the opinion that the community had no chance to testify in August during the hospital hearing.
The fresh hearing was called after the hospital informed Lolo last week that it wouldn't rescind the fees.
