A Fiji government delegation accompanying the prime minister, Laisenia Qarase, on his official visit to India has offered attractive incentives to Bollywood producers to make movies in Fiji.

The Daily Post quotes the minister for commerce and business development, Tomasi Vuetilovoni, as saying the government has offered a 15 per cent cash rebate on the amount of expenditure incurred in Fiji by the production house.

Mr Vuetilovoni says the producer can also raise production capital from Fiji taxpayers who can then claim up to 150-per cent tax deduction.

Overseas production houses can also set up operations in Fiji's studio city zones and become eligible for tax free income from audio-visual earnings.

Mr Vuetiolovoni has also urged members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce to look at investing in Fiji for manufacturing, agro-processing, construction, small and micro enterprises as well as financial services.
