New Zealand gives US$50,000 after Marshall Islands hospital fire

The New Zealand aid agency will give the Marshall Islands 50,000 US dollars to fund medicines following a hospital fire in Majuro earlier month.

The aid minister, Marian Hobbs, says the funds will be used to buy supplies in the US whiel some will be sourced in New Zealand.

She says the isolation of the Marshall Islands is an exacerbating factor and the hospital's loss impacts on the country as a whole.
