Election officials in the Northern Marianas say nearly 2,000 new voters will be participating in elections in November.
The Saipan Tribune newspaper reports a total of more than 15,000 people are expected to register to take part in the poll.
The deadline was the 16th of September but the election commission is continuing to accept registration forms which have been sent by voters off-island.
The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands elects MPs every two years.
