Hawaiian Airlines is offering special 10-percent discount fares on flights to American Samoa.
The discount takes effect immediately.
The discount fare applies only to active duty military personnel and their dependents, students up to age 26 and senior citizens aged 60 and older.
Proof of status such as proper identification is required to qualify for the cheaper fares.
Keoni Wagner, Hawaiian's vice president of public affairs says the airline hopes that the discount will make it easier for families to stay connected.
Tickets are non transferable and non refundable and the discount applies to new bookings only.
