Air Pacific to maintain flights to Tonga despite strike

Fiji's Air Pacific says it has no plans to suspend or temporarily halt flights into Tonga.

The airline's managing director John Campbell said in an email it will continue to provide a service as along as the airport in Tonga is staffed and meets all immigration, health and safety requirements.

The airline offers three weekly flights from Nadi to Nukualofa.

Meanwhile, Air New Zealand says its flights remain unaffected by the ongoing strike action.

The Visitors Bureau in Tonga has raised its concern about the effect of the strike by public servants on tourism.
