Guam tank collapse forces minor evacuation

7:13 pm on 22 June 2005

A one million gallon water reservoir collapsed in Guam and caused some damage to the neighbourhood in Macheche.

Three families were directly affected and evacuated to a hotel.

The water entered several homes after residents heard a loud boom.

The Government of Guam Water Work Authority officials and other emergency management agencies converged on the area.

The Authority says it will pay for the expenses.
