An American Samoan district governor says it's hoped a resolution between American Samoa and Samoa over immigration differences will occur at the next meeting.
Both have introduced tighter controls over requirements which disadvantage travellers going between the two Samoas.
The district governor for Manu'a, Li'a Tufele, says several ideas were tabled at last week's meeting between government officials in Apia.
He says one idea was to set up consulate offices in American Samoa and Samoa, to handle immigration requirements.
Mr Tufele says another was to have no permit requirments for Samoans travelling between the two countries.
Government leaders for both countries plan to meet again in Tutuila, later this month.
