American Samoa congressman defends FBI tax seizures

10:24 am on 8 March 2005

American Samoa's Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says the recent FBI seizure of tax records from key government institutions is how the agency conducts business

Faleomavaega says the raid is nothing unusual.

He says he understands concerns about the agents not being very courteous in terms of how they go about getting evidence...

"For fear of flight, or wannabe fugitives or individuals or information that they're getting at, sometimes this is a reason the Federal Bureau of Investigation conduct the investigation in this type of manner."
