Police in Solomon Islands capital, Honiara have finally tracked down the Minister of Home Affairs, Nelson Kile about a car crash he was involved in over the weekend.

The Deputy Director of the Police Traffic Centre, Inspector Davis Suirara confirmed last night that officers had visited Kile at his home yesterday afternoon and obtained a statement from him.

Mr Suirara could not say whether Mr Kile was drunk last Friday night, when he allegedly crashed into another vehicle and fled the scene of the accident.

He says investigations are underway into the accident.
