Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Sir Allan Kemakeza says he is confident he will defeat a motion of no-confidence to be moved by the Opposition MP former Prime Minister, Bartholomew Ulufa'alu in Parliament today.

In a statement late yesterday Sir Allan said he has the support of 36 MPs and that number could increase.

Sir Allan says he continues to maintain that such motions are the right of MPs but they do nothing for the stability that the Government has been able to achieve in the last year.

He says his leadership has been based upon dialogue and consultations with all parties in his coalition government and has been his trademark since becoming Prime Minister.

The no-confidence motion will be the fourth such motion since Sir Allan became Prime Minister some three years ago.
