The Solomon Islands Peace Council says it is surprised at a parliamentary report saying there are still illegal guns on Guadalcanal.
This comes after a gun surrender programme that collected more than four thousand weapons.
The Minister for Lands, Siriako Usa, said he has told the National Peace Council and police about the home made guns.
The Peace Council Chairman, Paul Tovua, says the report is news to him, but it raises serious concerns.
"I did not remember...and I consulted my monitors on the ground. He has not told us that there is one specific community that is still in possession of guns, although we know there are still guns around. But it is not true that he reported it to us. "
Paul Tovua says he'll call a meeting shortly with peace council workers in Guadalcanal, and with the Lands Minister.
