American Samoa's Governor Togiola Tulafono and Lieutenant Governor Ipulasi Aitofele Sunia, have been sworn in to their first full four-year term in office.

The King and Queen of Tonga, and the Samoa Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele were present yesterday as American Samoa's chief Justice Michael Kruse administered the oath of office for Togiola.

Governor Togiola Tulafono's inaugural address willl be given at the weekend but says his theme is "bridging the generations".

"It is not just a self-imposed mandate for Ipulasi and myself, in the new administration. It is also our God-given duties, all of us, not just the two of us, to bridge the generations of the past, and pass on the best to the generations of the future."
