In American Samoa, the High Court has found former Treasury employee Poe Faumuina in contempt of the legislature, for failing to comply with a Senate Select Investigative committee supboena last month.

Faumuina was sentenced to 15 days in jail and fined 300 US dollars, but is out on probation for two years.

His probation was granted, on the condition that when he is supboened, he would appear, testify and produce requested material.

The Senate Select Investigative Committee says the court ruling was a victory for them.
