A fourth soldier from American Samoa has died in Iraq.

Sgt. Tina Time of Futiga is the first female soldier from the territory to die in the Iraq war.

Sgt Time was two months away from completing a 22 month tour in Iraq.

Her mother said her daughter was a passenger in an armored vehicle which was involved in an accident and she was thrown out.

Sgt Time joined the American Samoa Army Reserve shortly after graduating from high school and joined the Arizona Reserve when she transferred to Arizona State University.

The 22-year old was deployed to Iraq last year with the Arizona reservists.
