Attempts to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in the Pacific have taken another step forward today with the launch of a new website.

The Pacific Island Aids Foundation is aiming the site at HIV positive islanders, and to provide information about access to drugs, treatment and prevention.

The founder of PIAF Marie Bopp says the website is another tool to enhance the work they do.

"The website is one component of our communications strategy and communications package. We see the use of the media as a very important resource in the fight against HIV/AIDS and to acheive our goals."

The website address is www.pacificaids.org
