70-year old man appears on cocaine charges in Tonga

A 70-year old man has appeared in the Supreme Court in Tonga for possession of cocaine.

'Isileli Fatani, from Kolonga appeared yesterday charged with the possession of one ounce of the illicit drug Cocaine.

The trial by a seven-member jury is presided over by Chief Justice Robin Webster.

It is alleged that the police found the drug at 'Isileli Fatani's residence at Kolonga in June 2001.

The Crown will call 12 witnesses and the trial is expected to take three days.
