Reports from Solomon Islands say police are close to arresting fisheries officers who had allegedly helped themselves to thousands of dollars of state funds.
An audit areport prompted the police investigations.
The reports say the fisheries officers helped themselves to thousands of dollars of fisheries funds last year, and could have paid themselves millions of dollars, had Treasury not intervened.
