Reports from Solomon Islands say police are close to arresting fisheries officers who had helped themselves to thousands of dollars of state funds.
Police officers began investigation into the allegations of fisheries officers misusing state funds following an audit report.
The report had alleged that fisheries officers had helped themselves to thousands of dollars of fisheries funds last year, and could have paid themselves millions of dollars, had the treasury department not intervened in time.
