10:14 am on 8 September 2004

The Fiji Revenue and Customs authority has sacked an employee for leaking confidential information which led to allegations of corruption being leveled against the authority in the Senate.

Radio Legend says the sacking has been confirmed by the chief executive of the Authority, Sila Kotobalavu.

Mr Kotobalavu says two other employees are going through a disciplinary process.

The corruption allegations were made by Senator Felix Anthony who implicated Mr Kotobalavu, the attorney general Qoriniasi Bale and others.

Senator Anthony later lodged his complaint with the police in a 9-page document called THE DESTRUCTION OF FIJI'S REVENUE COLLECTION.

Mr Kotobalavu says he is waiting to obtain a copy of the document from the police and file a writ against Senator Anthony
