Lightning kills woman in PNG

A woman in Papua New Guinea has been killed and 35 others injured during an electrical storm in Southern Highlands at the weekend.

The Post-Courier newspaper says a lightning bolt which struck the woman also struck a church building in Imbonggu cutting it in half.

A service in the church had just ended and parishioners were heading home when the lightning struck.

The injured were admitted to Mendi hospital for treatment.
