New Caledonia's international carrier has announced lower airfares to its seven destination in the South Pacific.

Air Calin says from October the fourth it will make available tickets at up to 30 percent less in a bid to increase traffic volume.

The airline flies to Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Port Vila, Wallis Nadi and Papeete.

Its head, Jean-Michel Masson, told the Nouvelles Caledoniennes newspaper that with its new fleet of Airbus planes it can fly more people to New Caledonia and allow locals to travel more often.
