Police in New Caledonia have examined a cemetery where a number of graves have been vandalised.
Thirteen sites were desecrated with pornographic slogans.
The Nouvelles Caledoniennes newspaper says forensic tests of fingerprints are being made.
The paper quotes unnamed individuals as saying that there has been activity in the graveyard at night when there was laughter and small lights were spotted.
