Air Vanuatu swells fleet with new jet

10:33 am on 2 July 2004

Air Vanuatu has got a new Boeing 737 plane, which will enable the airline to increase its flights.

The Vanuatu Daily quotes the airline's chief executive, Jean Paul Virelala, as saying the plane is part of its development policy, which will also impact on the country's economy.

Mr Virelala says the new plane will mean more tourist arrivals to the main centres.

And he says the new plane will also see more Air Vanuatu flights to Australia and New Zealand.
