New Zealand provides aid to combat malaria and HIV/AIDS in Papua New Guinea

The New Zealand government has donated almost 900,000 US dollars to Papua New Guinea's Health Sector Improvement Programme.

NZAid manager, Zoe Coulson, says the money will be used to support efforts to combat malaria and HIV/Aids and a range of other health services in various parts of the country.

New Zealand, which has contributed more than one and three quarter million dollars to the programme since 2001, is one of several development partners supporting the Programme and is acting as the coordinating donor for the partners.
