Solomon Islands government to examine report on Weather Coast killings

10:19 am on 27 May 2004

The first sitting of Solomon Islands government this year will receive a report into the killing of ten Malaita men on Guadalcanal's remote Weather Coast in 2002.

A special parliamentary select committee has finished a report on the killing and presented its finding to the National Unity and Peace Minister, Nathaniel Waena.

The Committee was expected to look into whether the trip was arranged and if so, by whom.

Parliament is due to sit today.

The rebel leader, Harold Keke has already admitted killing the men, who were buried in a mass grave.
