Air New Zealand says it'll operate increased services between Rarotonga and Auckland during July and also later in the year.
The airline's manager for the Cook Islands, David Bridge, says the move is great news for the country, and is in response to strong demand for travel between the two destinations, in particular during school holidays.
Mr Bridge says the Cook Islands has become a more affordable destination with the significantly reduced fares under Air New Zealand Pacific Express which begins next week.
In July the airline will put on two additional return Boeing 767 services and replace two scheduled Boeing 767 flights with a larger Boeing 747 aircraft.
Mr Bridge says 1250 extra seats will be available for those wanting to come to the Cook Islands or travel to New Zealand in that period.
