There's been a dramatic rise in Australian tourist arrivals in Fiji.

Australians who visited Fiji in the first three months of this year numbered nearly 35,000; an increase of almost 38 per cent over the figures for last year.

In March alone, Australians comprised 55 per cent of all tourist arrivals.

The Fiji Visitors Bureau is planning a tourism roadshow in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne in the next few weeks to further boost the numbers.

New Zealand tourists to Fiji have also increased, as have those from the United States, Canada, Japan and Britain.
