Fiji police have blamed the media for stirring up public perceptions and emotions against the military on the issue of allegations that Commodore Bainimarama planned to overthrow the Qarase government.
A report in the Fiji Sun says the police spokesman, Mesake Koroi, has warned the media against sensationalising on the issue.
Mr Koroi is quoted as saying it was a crying shame that police were informed of the allegations only through the media.
He has asked why the suspended officers making the allegations thought they could solve their problems by going to the media instead of the police.
Mr Koroi says if that is the case, then let everyone air their grievances with the media and not the police.
